Planning your visit
Planning a trip to Nui Beach demands a bit of research. Secluded between forested cliffs south of the famous Kata and Nai Harn beaches, Nui Beach resists easy access, adding to its exclusive feel. Most travelers reach the shoreline via a bumpy dirt road, and during high season, local transportation or shuttle trucks run from the main road to the beach entrance. Entry sometimes requires a small fee, which includes a welcome drink. Crowds generally stay manageable thanks to the tricky access, except during peak holidays and weekends.
- Best time to visit: November to April, early morning or late afternoon for cooler weather
- How to get there: Rent a scooter, catch a local taxi, or join a boat tour from Kata; the last kilometer is steep and rough—shuttle trucks operate for a fee
- Accessibility: Not stroller- or wheelchair-friendly due to rugged paths; young kids may need help
- Average visit duration: Two to four hours to swim, relax, and explore the surroundings
