Planning your visit
Reaching Long Beach requires a touch of planning but rewards those who make the journey. The earlier part of the day reveals the beach at its quietest and brightest, as the sun paints the water in shifting shades of aqua and jade. Though popular, Long Beach rarely feels overcrowded, especially compared to Ton Sai Bay across the water. Families find the gentle slope of the sand inviting for kids, while couples can stake out shaded spots for lounging and swimming. Older travelers appreciate the easy, strollable paths.
- Best time to visit: November through April for calm seas and little rain. Arrive before noon or after 3 pm for fewer people and softer sunlight.
- How to get there: Take a longtail boat from Ton Sai Pier (10–15 minutes) or walk from central Phi Phi through jungle trails (30–40 minutes, moderate difficulty).
- Accessibility: The beach is family-friendly. Walking paths can be steep or uneven, so seniors may prefer boat access.
- Average visit duration: 2 to 4 hours, or stay for the day with lunch at a beachfront café.
